E J Thias Tree and Sunset Hills Time Capsule

We visited my father's tree this summer. It is located at the Sunset Hills City Hall behind the Time Capsule. Some of my fathers artwork was placed in the time capsule at the ceremony several months before he died.

Tree Dedication

E J Thias Tree dedication Sunset Hills Missouri.
Linda Virga speaks to the crowd about E J Thias and how he taught watercolor to many over the 45 years that she knew him. Linda attended E J Thias first class and his last class and is his Alpha Omega Student.
Joyce Franklin, Sunset Hills historian read a Hopi Indian prayer that she chose for the dedication.
Hopi Indian Prayer
Do not stand by my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand diamond glints in the snow.
I am the sunlight on the ripened grain.
I am the autumns gentle rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush,
I am the uplifting rush of a quiet bird in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand by my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.
